Sessions can continue in Tier 3

Metros sessions can continue even though we are now in Tier 3. We have, however, decided to cancel our planned 5K track event on Saturday 19th. As before, all sessions have to be pre-booked and only members can attend. Please remember to maintain a social distance and to keep to the rule of 6 before and after the sessions. Stay safe.
Sessions are restarting on Wednesday 2nd December

Sessions will be back from Wednesday. All sessions need to be pre-booked, look out for invites from Monday onwards. Remember that tier 2 restrictions apply before and after sessions so keep to groups of 6 or fewer before and after each session. Sessions are now on every day except Sunday. Contact the membership secretary to get added to the new Friday daytime mailing list.
Sessions are back

We now have sessions back on 5 days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Some session start times have changed and attendance has to be pre-booked – see members section for details. All sessions are run under current EA guidance. Members must remember that before and after sessions, normal restrictions apply. please disperse promptly and only gather in groups of 6 or fewer.

When sessions restart next week, you will need to pre-book attendance. Make sure you sign up for mailing lists before 14th so that you receive invites to the sessions you are interested in.

At a committee meeting last week, we decided that we should be able to restart some of our sessions from 14th September. These will be restricted to current members only and will need to be pre-booked so we can manage numbers and organise enough leaders. All members will be advised by email how to book.

In the light of today’s government announcements, we believe we have no alternative but to cancel all Metros sessions with immediate effect.

I’m sure everyone is keeping an eye on the news. Unless we’re instructed otherwise, all our training sessions are going ahead. We’ll post an update if anything changes.

Support your local race

Harrow Hill 10K is back on Sunday February 16th. I hope as many of you as possible are taking part, either running or volunteering. The proceeds go to a small local cause, the Harrow MS Therapy centre. In the last two years we’ve managed to raise over £2,000 for them, let’s keep up the good work.
If you’re reluctant to attempt a hilly 10k, remember 8k is flat or downhill! Hope to see you there.

It’s that time of year where festivities get in the way of running. Remember to check the weekly updates section for any changes to runs. There are no formal sessions on 24th, 25th or 31st. But there are local parkruns on 25th and 1st to look forward to.

Mainly social events this month, but there’s the second of the 5k challenge runs on Saturday 21st at Sunny Hill parkrun. For those of you who need to work off your Daisy’s dinner this weekend, there’s Wot no Watch at Roxbourne park on Saturday morning. The final social event of the year is Xmas drinks hosted by the Rackhams, remember to rsvp to them.
Busy weekend on 15th and 16th

Just a quick reminder that our revamped awards evening “Pizza and Prizes” is on Friday 15th at Lowlands Tennis Club. The next day, Saturday 16th, is our annual mob match against Sudbury Court at Harrow parkrun. both events promise to be great fun, hope to see lots of members there. Remember, if you aren’t running for any reason at the moment, why not volunteer, your help will be hugely appreciated
